Pantomime

The English have a tradition of doing pantomime every year at Christmas time.  Smaller theatres in smaller towns/cities each do their own show, and the shows are generally kid-themed.

This year a town near us did Snow White, and we were excited to go, though not entirely sure what to expect.

We loved it!  It was sort of an original twist on Snow White with some new characters and a few changes to the storyline.

Pantomime is generally musical, audience engaging, and comedic.  There was lots of "adult" humour and lots of singing and dancing.  It was a bit long for kids - nearly two and a half hours including intermission.  But in England you can eat and drink in your seat, and they sell ice cream at intermission, so its a bit easier for the kids to sit through it all.

We have tickets at the end of the month to see another pantomime - Sleeping Beauty - being put on by employees of Brad's firm.  Brad won't be starring this year, but maybe next year...
