Big sleep

Coming to the UK from the US always poses a sleeping challenge - even though you don't get much sleep on the flight, its best to stay awake as long as possible on the day of arrival, go to bed early (I usually don't make it much past 7) and get back on schedule for the next day.

Since this was the first time we "came home" to the UK from the US, it was hard to resist the comfort of our own sofas, so we gave up on the idea of staying awake all day and spent the afternoon sleeping.  As a result, dinner was late, and bedtime was late as well.  The kids got to bed around 9:30.  I figured it was just as well - I didn't want to put them to bed at 6 or 7 and have them wake up at 6 or 7 this morning!

Brad got up and went to work this morning - I stayed in bed until almost 9 since the kids hadn't come in to get me.  I got up and checked on them - both were sleeping soundly (Susanna decided last night that she wants to sleep in her own room now - maybe that helped).  Susanna ended up waking up at about 10:30, and Ben didn't stir until shortly after noon.  I could hardly believe how much they slept, especially Ben.  He is a true early bird.

So maybe now they will be all set to get back on a regular sleep schedule.  With only a week to go before school, that would be really nice!
